专家简介:Professor W.K. Chow is currently Emeritus Professor (Architectural Science and Fire Engineering) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He retired from Chair Professor of Architectural Science and Fire Engineering (1998-2019) and Director of Research Centre for Fire Engineering (2000-2019). He served as the Head of the Department of Building Services Engineering from 2009 to 2016. His research areas are on fire models, fire suppression systems, smoke management systems and fire safety of green constructions. He is also working on fire and explosion activities with some institutions in China. 讲座内容简介:Although green designs are practised in every areas, there are fire hazards which have to be assessed by fire engineering.  In this talk, fire safety in green designs will be introduced first. Green firefighting must be watched to avoid having big fire and even explosion. Problems in using fire models in fire engineering are then pointed out. Results must be justified thoroughly before selecting to implement. Improper studies must be abandoned to avoid killing firefighters as experienced before in handling big fires. Fire engineering appropriated for first degree students will be introduced. Appropriated safety provisions must be determined to have green and safety working in collaboration, not in conflicts.
